From live online lessons to immersive day courses and weekend residential breaks, Guitar Weekends offers expert tuition for every stage of your playing journey. Discover the course format that suits you and start developing your skills, confidence and enjoyment of the guitar.
Can’t make one of our day or residential courses? No problem. Our live online Zoom courses bring the same expert tuition straight to your home. The courses cater for acoustic, electric and bass guitarists, from beginners through to advanced players.
Each interactive session is easy to join, with excellent audio and video quality, plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and comprehensive course materials. Better still, every lesson is recorded, so if you miss the live session—or simply want to revisit it—you’ll receive the full recording afterwards.
If you’ve ever thought:
…then you’re exactly who these courses are designed for.
Our online lessons give you clear direction, fresh inspiration and practical skills that you can apply immediately, helping you break through plateaus and become a more confident, musical guitarist.
Our online courses are live, interactive Zoom sessions—not pre-recorded DVDs or videos. That means you’re learning with a real tutor in real time, with the opportunity to ask questions, request clarification and benefit from the discussions that naturally arise during the lesson.
If you’d rather just sit back and watch, that’s absolutely fine too. But if something isn’t clear, you can simply ask. That interaction is often the difference between watching a lesson and really understanding it.
Learning doesn’t stop when the session ends either. You’re welcome to email us with follow-up questions, and if you’d like more personalised guidance, we also offer one-to-one lessons, both online and in person.
It’s expert tuition, personal support and a friendly learning community—all from the comfort of your own home.
Our live online courses run all year round, with our expert tutors delivering a wide range of topics. You can book individual sessions or save money by purchasing a complete course series.

There’s no substitute for making music with other guitarists. While our online courses provide expert tuition from the comfort of your home, our Day Courses take learning to another level by bringing players together in the same room to learn, play and share ideas.
Spend the day immersed in guitar, developing new skills, learning great songs and putting everything into practice alongside a friendly group of like-minded musicians. It’s a fun, motivating environment where you’ll gain confidence, make new friends and leave inspired to keep playing.
Each course focuses on a specific topic and is packed with practical teaching, demonstrations and plenty of playing time. Courses are held at the same quality venues as our residential weekends, as well as at our tutors’ own teaching studios, and typically run from 10.00am to 5.00pm, with breaks for refreshments and lunch.
If you’re looking for a day that will reignite your enthusiasm for the guitar, this is it.
Our Day Courses are carefully structured into clear, manageable sessions, allowing you to absorb new ideas, put them into practice and build your skills at a comfortable pace.
You’ll receive comprehensive course materials to support your learning, including lesson PDFs, backing tracks, photos of course notes and flip charts, plus any audio or video recordings made during the day.
With slightly larger capacities than our residential weekends, Day Courses offer a great opportunity to learn, play and connect with other guitarists. Places can still fill quickly, so check our What’s On page and book early to avoid disappointment.
Popular Day Courses include Beginners, Strugglers, Strugglers Plus, Jam Day, Genre Essentials, Songwriting, Rhythm Playing, Fingerstyle Beginners, Fingerstyle Mastery, Bass and many more.
Our residential guitar weekends are designed for players who want to immerse themselves in their guitar, make real progress and enjoy the experience of learning with others. We know how difficult it can be to stay motivated and move forward on your own—that’s where our guitar holidays make the difference.
Spend focused time improving your playing while being surrounded by like-minded musicians in a relaxed, friendly and inspiring environment. You’ll learn from experienced professional tutors, play alongside other guitarists and leave with fresh ideas, renewed confidence and plenty of motivation.
Our courses are carefully structured but never feel rigid. Each weekend combines expert tuition, group playing, jamming and opportunities to perform, creating the perfect balance between learning and having fun.
Every course includes comprehensive lesson materials, follow-up resources and ongoing support after the event. If something clicks afterwards—or you need a little extra guidance—we’re always happy to help.
Most residential courses run from Friday afternoon to Sunday lunchtime at great venues around the country, with occasional weekday courses and Jam Days also available.
Whatever the subject—blues, rock, fingerstyle, songwriting, rhythm, improvisation or beyond—you’ll learn, play and share the experience with a great group of guitarists.
Come for the guitar. Stay for the experience. Leave inspired.
Our residential weekends attract a fantastic mix of friendly, like-minded players who come together to learn, play and enjoy a great shared experience. Many guests bring their partners too, who are always very welcome and often become part of the weekend—joining the Saturday night performances, social evenings, meals and the all-important downtime between sessions.
We take care of the details, providing everything you need before you arrive, including travel directions, venue information, check-in guidance and advice on what equipment to bring.
Our courses welcome acoustic, electric and bass guitarists of all levels, from beginners through to advanced players. Not sure which course is right for you? Our FAQs explain our playing levels and include guidance to help you choose the perfect weekend.
Unlike our online sessions, residential places are limited to ensure everyone gets the best possible experience. Check our What’s On page and book early to avoid missing out.
