What we’ll be covering?

Explore the rhythm guitar styles used in ‘Classic Rock’ tunes by some of rocks leading players. Explore the use of clean, clean with chorus, crunch, overdrive, full on distortion and lead sounds used in classic riffs, solos and rhythm accompaniment. Examples from (AC/DC, Brian May, Richie Blackmore, Paul Kossoff). The aim is to work on tight rhythm playing and getting the right sound to fit in with the song.

 

Who’s this session suitable for?

High Beginner to Intermediate acoustic or electric guitar.

You should know basic barre chords and play with a plectrum.

 

Materials

  • Lesson PDFs (maybe including some comprehensive prep scale sheets).
  • Access to a Zoom recording of the live lesson.
  • Any backing tracks used in the lesson.

 

Home practice

The session is 60 minutes long; don’t expect to master everything during the session. The tutor will go through all the key parts, demonstrating them and discussing the associated techniques and know-how.

 

Always remember

The real work is done by you afterwards. Armed with the materials (PDFs, backing tracks and video  recording), you’ll have all the tools to work on things at your own pace.
