The shuffle rhythm is indelibly stamped on the Blues. But it is also used across lots of other genres and styles. We’ll look at how to apply and modify the bass lines to incorporaate that shuffle feel (rhythm, note choices, dynamics, drive, etc.)? Although focused on bass player, the session will undoubtedly provide great insights for other instruments – especially guitar players. Add new life to songs, or parts of songs, that you already know.
The shuffle is a core rhythm used in every style of music – Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country, Jazz, Pop, Funk, Reggae, etc.
In this session we’ll be looking at:
Expand your knowledge of rhythm and how to use it to create ‘new’ bass lines out of what you already know well and can play with ease.
High Beginner to Intermediate bass players.
Some guitarists might learn from this approach!
The session is 60 minutes long; don’t expect to master everything during the session. The tutor will go through all the key parts, demonstrating them and discussing the associated techniques and know-how.
The real work is done by you afterwards. Armed with the materials (PDFs, backing tracks and video recording), you’ll have all the tools to work on things at your own pace.
