Bass 'Hang'

Come along and ‘hang out’ with our bass guitar tutor, Keith Peberdy. We’ll be discussing learning, playing and enjoying bass guitar as well as a wealth of subjects across music in general. It’s an open forum for asking Keith questions, checking issues with your playing technique, gaps in musical knowledge that’s worrying you and generally listening to your suggestions.

What we’ll be covering

This is a chat with Keith Peberdy our bass guitar tutor. As Keith pointed out to me, “The Bass ‘Hang’ is an open session that’s very much for the players. Whilst I will have things that I want to talk about and show, it’s success largely relies on the players’ input. What do you want to know/learn/ask? If you find it beneficial, we’ll make it more of a regular thing.”

So this session is open to one-and-all; guitarists and bass players alike. Come along and join in. It’ll cover a wide range of subjects (driven by the group as well as Keith); subects such as:

  • Insights into learning and practising bass
  • Keith’s take on the role of the bass
  • How he teaches in the various course formats we run
  • Something topical
  • Understanding music
  • How and what to listen to
  • Exploring genres and styles
  • Gear issues
  • The fundamentals: fretboard, basic scales, arpeggios and chord tones, knowing chord progressions
  • Keith’s golden rules!
  • Clinic – liten to and try to resolve your bass-playing problems (BTW, it’s good to have an audio interface for the bass if you want it to be heard properly – listen to our previous Bass ‘Hang’ session.
  • And a whole lot more
  • Getting your suggestions for courses: technique-based, songs, artists, music ‘theory’, tricks of the trade, clasic bass lines you must know, etc.

Your input and contribution is important
