Using a loop pedal

The loop pedal is an invaluable tool for both practice and performance. It can also help in developing ideas for song writers. We look at how best to use it. If you don’t have one already then we might inspire you to go out and buy – beware, more guitar acquisitions!

What will we be covering?

This course is about how to get the most out of a looper or loop pedal. There are lots on the market: Boss, Ditto, etc.

In essence they’re simple to use but it’s great to be shown how to connect it all up, count in, hit the buttons, overdub, delete, etc. They’re fantastic for practice purposes and then you can go into Ed Sheran mode and use it for performing the songs you like to play.

Who’s this session suitable for?

Anyone who’s interested in improving their playing. It’s great if you already have loop pedal but the insight into how to use it to best effect might inspire you to buy a new, or used, one!

Materials

  • Lesson PDFs (maybe including some comprehensive prep scale sheets).
  • Access to a Zoom recording of the live lesson.
  • Any backing tracks used in the lesson.

Home practice

The session is 60 minutes long; don’t expect to master everything during the session. The tutor will go through all the key parts, demonstrating them and discussing the associated techniques and know-how.

Always remember

The real work is done by you afterwards. Armed with the materials (PDFs, backing tracks and video  recording), you’ll have all the tools to work on things at your own pace.

Booking a place and buying options

When you book you’ll have two options:

1. You want to join the live Zoom session.

You’ll receive the joining instructions on the day. Being live, you’ll be able to put your own questions directly to the tutor during the session. Choose option 1, Live lesson and materials.

2. Maybe you’d like to attend but can’t make it on this occasion?

You can buy the materials and receive them after the session (i.e. lesson PDF(s) and access to a Zoom recording of the live session). Choose option 2, Materials only.
