We go into the detail for this laid-back, superb song. It’s a fantastic singalong and the guitar is the ideal accompaniment for vocals. We’ll look at forming and changing chords with various strumming and picking patterns. As it uses only a few basic chords (but there are one or to little surprises in there as well!) it’s an ideal song for beginners.
It’s not just about what you play but how you play it.
Lesson 1 focuses on the song form (intro, explore the verse, chorus and middle 8), chords and changing with a rhythmic groove. Great for beginner.
Lesson 2 focuses on the intro/solo in 1st positione and introduces basic fingerpicking approaches for the chord changes. This will push the intermediate player.
As you can see, we try to layer these lessons so that we cover off the more straight-forward elements early on and gradually build up to the more complex subjects. The bulk of each lesson is teaching (usually with a minimum number of questions taken along the way) but we dedicate the end slot for Q&A. With the lessons being online and muted you can play along with our tutotr is total privacy but be able to unmute and ask questions at any time; if the tutor asks, and you’re so inclined, you can even switch on your video and have a one-on-one coaching session.
We’ve always recognised that the real work takes place after a course and so our comprehensive set of materials should really help for home practice. Over and above learning the song our objective is to give you the tools to self-improve.
In-lesson materials will be provided for the chosen lessons as well as any practice materials: PDFs, lesson TABs, backing tracks and snippet videos of examples/exercises used during the lesson. Includes a full bass TAB for any bassists who would like to join (although this won’t be taught in the lessons).
This course is for relative beginners to intermeidate acoustic and electric guitar players (check out our FAQs’ Skill levels and suitable courses). There’s something for everyone in all our courses and the follow-on materials should help in both practising the song as well as understanding and applying any techniques and relevant theory covered.

Whatever level you are, you’ll have lots of takeaways to work on later. If you’d like to go through the course please call or email.
Our courses are not only there to:
but to also challenge you a little and give you great things to work on in your own time. Don’t expect to nail a whole song or be able to fully use a technique or completely understand a bit of practical theory on the course; be patient and diligently work through the material at home.
