Ideally, you should consider Improvers once you’ve been on our Strugglers course but it’s not essential. Where Strugglers was about which notes (scales, chords) to play and adding some some practical theory to help put things into context, Improvers takes rhythm, chords, use of scales and techniques to the next level with a focus on the quality of the notes and how to practice.
As ever we’ll use lots of great tunes as part of teaching technique and know-how; these songs will add to your repertoire and provide you with extra tools and confidence to improve your playing.
This one is a bit of tune-fest.
As with all our courses, there’ll be non-stop playing using some great tunes throughout. We take things at a steady pace with lots of breaks to stretch the legs and backs and get some air into our lungs and have some quiet time to take in and discuss with the others what’s being taught; the course is as much about having a fun, sociable weekend as it is about the teaching and playing.
There are no hard and fast rules concerning course suitability and we therefore encourage most levels of guitarist to come along, mix in and have a go; though a real Beginner would certainly struggle. If you can play open chords and have attempted barre chords then you’re good to go.

Whatever level you’re at, you’ll have lots of takeaways to work on later.
