This is a single introductory lesson to strumming and the techniques required. The lesson will show you how to strum, highlighting common problems and how to solve them – it’s supported by detailed videos covering each aspect of strumming as well as some exercises you can use for practice. We’ll look at strumming with a plectrum and just fingers. The basic guideline is that you should remain relaxed throughout, create a nice tone and stay in time.
This is a regular lesson and each time we introduce new example into the lesson to make it fresh for returning players.
This is a must-know technique to master. Here’s a quick self-check. Can you:
If you’ve been on this lesson before then there is a repeater’s discount on the fee. Check below.
Number of lessons:
One, 90 mins long.
Note: these are live, online, interactive group sessions.
The bulk of each lesson is the actual teaching (with some questions along the way) and we dedicate the end slot to a formal Q&A. With the lessons being online as well as being muted, you can play along with the tutor in total privacy but unmute and ask questions at any time; you can even switch on your video and, if the tutor asks and you’re so inclined take a one-on-one session with him.
The real work always takes place after a course and so we provide a comprehensive set of materials for home practice; these include: the comprehensive lesson TAB and a wealth of videos to support the TAB. Our intention is to give you the tools to self-improve. Repeat players will already have received these materials but some additional material will be added in – the fee for repeat versus new players reflects this.
Literally any level for this one (acoustic or electric guitars – not so much for the bass). You should be able to play a few open chords (even though chords don’t necessarily come into it. Whatever level you are, you’ll have lots of takeaways to work on later. If you’d like to go through the course please call or email.
Our courses are not only there to:
but to also challenge you a little and give you great things to work on in your own time. Don’t expect to nail a whole song or be able to fully use a technique or completely understand a bit of practical theory on the course; be patient and diligently work through the material at home.
