What you can expect to learn on the weekend
**October Strugglers weekend brought
forward to 24th September** March and
April weekends now full.
Basic principles of guitar playing, holding the guitar, plectrum and
Tips to help you play better.
Playing chords effectively.
Playing in time and together with others.
Rhythm and playing specific
strumming patterns.
Lead playing, soloing and improvisation using pentatonic scales.
How to work out and learn the chords for particular tunes or songs.
Playing in different keys and transposing between them.
Plenty of chances a jam with other like minded-players.
Playing in and understanding different time signatures.
Work out a piece to play within a small group and perform it.
This is a very practical hands on weekend with lots of playing.
We will work through plenty of Tunes (songs and instrumentals) in varied styles such as Rock, Blues and Country.
What would be handy to practice before coming on weekend
***If you're not sure which weekend to come on then choose this one for a back to basics approach,
which will fill in the missing knowledge
and improve your playing dramatically.***
A chance for one struggling 'Bass player' to join us as well.
Due to the popularity of this weekend, we have a similar weekend with
Gary Dunn: An
'Improvers Weekend' which is a little more Rock orientated,
same ability level.
