Neil Harland,
Bass Weekends
Neil has a Graduate
Diploma in Music (1st Class) and an
M.A
in music technology (Distinction).
Both obtained at Newcastle
College of Music.
He has worked for more than 15 years as a Professional Musician
playing in the UK and Europe and has been fortunate to work with some
great musicians in a wide range of styles, rock/pop/folk/jazz and blues.
He has also worked as a Session Musician and recorded for artists
including Joe Cocker “No
Ordinary World” (EMI), The Lanterns “Luminate yer Heid” (Sony), Reno
“Reno” (London Records) and Alyth McCormack (Vertical),
Revolver “Eldorado” (Warner -Spain).
He has appeared on various radio and television programmes
including Later with Jools Holland (with Kathryn Tickell).
Neil
has
performed at Glasgow Celtic Connections festival and in Italy with
Edinburgh based band Nusa, as well as UK and Ireland appearances with
folk/ bluesman Jonny Dickinson (also recording a live DVD).
He
has
also toured the UK with Bob Fox and The Hush and
is involved in Jazz-action writing/performing project called Free
Spirits.
Neil currently teaches bass guitar for Newcastle University
and Newcastle and Gateshead Colleges on BMus, HND and HD Courses as
a qualified teacher.
