My name is Malcolm (also known as Dave or Chalky) and I LOVE THE GUITAR. I
do not play particularly well, I am more of a hobby or bedroom player and
I'm 60. I love the Blues and I'm a bit of a Shadows fan. I haveretired from my small decorating business which my son has taken over and
also help my wife Lesley in our 'Country Guest House' set in the
Lowther valley, a quiet and un-spoilt corner of the Lake District where we
have been now for 29 years.
I would like to introduce you to a new experience for
guitar players and lovers of the Guitar. I started Guitar Weekends here
back in 1994 especially for players like myself with little time to
practice and even less time to get together with other players.
'Guitar
Weekends, are specifically
designed to help you -
"Learn"
no matter what stage you are at,
how to play better,
"Get
motivated"
by inspiring and showing you
what you need to be doing to improve and develop your playing, and
"To have fun"
by meeting and playing together with other like minded people.
We have a major guitar
show in Penrith every year in August which enables players to get
together and also meet the dealers and players in the industry. The
funds from this show allow me to run workshops and clinics in the area
and at Beckfoot to help players learn even more. I also help to
keep music live by subsidizing local venues for live music. I hope to
see you up here one day, all the best with your playing.
