An introduction to Guitar Weekends
The most common question I get is,
"How good do I need to be?" My answer to that is
"As good as you are now!".
This is a practical hands on weekend using a variety of
tools and equipment. So some experience of using basic
tools is essential.
What happens and
when
The residential guitar weekends here at
Beckfoot are held Throughout the year
from March to November.
They have been specially developed for hobby-players
like yourselves who don't get enough time at home to
practice and have trouble in finding other players to
work with. Mind you some that come on the weekends have or still do play in bands.
The
Guitar Weekend runs from just after 3pm Friday afternoon
through to Sunday afternoon after lunch and you just
play, learn and relax through out the fully residential
weekend. Your time here is completely devoted to guitar
related activities. We do cater for non residential
players as well.
On
the Friday afternoon, having arrived
as close to 3 O'clock
as you can
we will start introducing you to each other, then start
introducing you to the tools and projects you will carry
out over the weekend. This will continue after dinner
which is at 7pm till quite late.
The
Saturday consists of workshops throughout the day (9.15
till 5.30) and if required after
dinner which is at 7pm we will continue working on your
projects.
You will need to bring a guitar with you to work on.
Don't worry you will be fully supervised whilst carrying
out any work on your instruments and you will finish all
of the project whilst here.
Feel free to bring another guitar to assess for a home
project after the weekend course.
Whilst the plan is to finish by lunch time on the Sunday
we do have time after lunch to fully finish anything
that might still be to do.
