Lin Flanagan,
Strugglers Weekends
I met Lin in 1999 when he presented a lecture at the
London College of Music for the Registry of Guitar
Tutors. I was so impressed by his style of teaching,
which I can only call ‘Inspirational’, that I invited
him to come and teach here at Guitar Weekends. He has
been the Strugglers' Course tutor ever since.
Aside from being a fine player, Lin has specifically
dedicated many years towards the refinement of a
teaching style that combines an impressive knowledge
with a structured, patient, affable, enthusiastic and
down-to-earth approach. Lin is a highly respected
"tutors' tutor" and his teaching qualifications at the
Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the London College
of Music, and the ABRSM are too many to list here*. He
is also a former guitar examiner, and is one of the most
qualified and respected guitar teachers in the UK.
Lin uses his skills to cater for students with a wide
range of capabilities. He is able to draw them to play
beyond their expectations. In fact, they are amazed at
their own unlocked potential.
Lin has been teaching on both the Strugglers Guitar
Weekend break and the Strugglers Two weekend break for
quite a few years now and has many letters of thanks
worth reading.
