We’ve been running our
residential Guitar Weekend breaks in the beautiful Lake District since
1995.
Unlike some other residential courses, our tutors are
not only exceptional players, but they are all phenomenal teachers of the
highest calibre too. Whether they are highly qualified, or hold high level
teaching posts, they are all highly respected for their tutoring abilities
and are specifically hand picked. As well as teaching beginners, these
guys also teach the tutors. So they really are “The Guitar Teachers’
Teachers”
We have several courses to chose from: Blues,
Country, Rock, JazzDjango, Bass, Maintenance and setting up and even
Song writing; and for those of a nervous disposition or wanting a back to
basics approach we have our Strugglers
Weekends, this together with Blues

Our courses are primarily aimed at those who would
call themselves hobby-players and we cater for the wide range of abilities
that this entails. So there’s no need to fret, (sorry, guitarist’ pun)
about making a fool of yourself in front of others. In fact you’d be
surprised by just how many other players there are out there, who suffer
from the same lack of confidence as yourself. We deliberately keep our
numbers small (Max 8 on a course) so that you get the most out of a
weekend. The atmosphere on our guitar weekends is very friendly, creating
the perfect environment for learning.

We also cater for those who wish to accompany their
partners to the Lake District for a relaxing weekend break, but who are
not guitar minded themselves. The scenery here is absolutely beautiful and
there are some lovely walks. Alternatively, you can always take in the
tranquillity of our house (Beckfoot) and grounds which adjoins the fells in the
lovely Lowther Valley. In fact, it really is the perfect place to just
