| Hi Folks Rather an emotional time over the last few weeks as we finished the year off with our Blues Two weekend on the 27th of November. It will be the last Strugglers Two and Blues Two weekends to be held at 'Beckfoot House' here in the Lakes. Most of the guys who come away on those weekends having been returning to Beckfoot many times over the last few years. We still have 5 weekends to get through in February and March next year then we move down to our new venue, The Cotswold Conference Centre nestled in 300 acres of the 'Farncombe Estate' in the Cotswolds. Weekends are filling as I send out this newsletter with bookings for the Blues Two weekend next November and earlier ones being made. The venue is very convenient for all you Southern players however we will be sorting out another Northern venue in due course. A lot of players come down from Scotland for the weekends including the Shetlands and Orkney's so it's important to keep them happy. November saw us trying out some mid week breaks for players to come along and get some extra teaching and practice before the weekend. I know there are a few of you who would like mid week breaks and we are looking into this. Get in touch if that is something that interests you. My good friend Ronnie McCrorie will be taking over Guitar Weekends after March next year and I will be helping him out over the next year and into 2013, my goodness time flies when you are having fun. It doesn't seem long ago since I was starting the weekends before the turn of the century. Ronnie is an ex weekender himself and is very keen to keep Guitar Weekends in a similar format as it is now. Special early bird discount for all 'Farncombe in the Cotswolds' venue weekends (May to November 2012) if booked before December 2011, £25 per person/booking.
Maintenance These weekends will still be held at Beckfoot in our own workshop here. It would be difficult to set up facilities elsewhere. The next weekend is planned for the 13th of April and will be a combined Maintenance Two and One weekend. Guitar Clubs If any of you are members or know of guitar clubs out then please let me know as I would like to list them on the Guitar Clubs page. Even better if any of you want to start Guitar Clubs then get in touch. Some Items For Sale I have some items being sold for ex weekenders and myself on the 'For Sale' section of the web site including complete on stage rig. Ex Weekenders Facebook Group The Guitar Weekenders face book group is now up to 208 members and growing. A lot are getting together now and forming small groups who get together on a regular basis. Of course you have to come on a weekend to join the closed group. If you have been on a weekend and want to join please email me.
