Friday evening is quite
informal and
generally goes on till quite
late.

The More structured workshops start on
the Saturday morning and continue till about 5.30 with regular breaks for
refreshments. These will include different elements of
playing including techniques, theory and actual playing according to the
relevant weekend style.

 |
After dinner
Saturday night we have a structured jam session and
we do like to slit the group into two smaller groups. Each group will then
learn and present a simple tune or song after spending time preparing and
arranging who does what and using some of the principles and techniques
learned during the day

The workshops then continue on the Sunday
morning till its time for lunch at about 1 O'clock.

Then after fond farewells
and the usual photo call most make their way home.

 |
We sometimes have a
Fender Club workshop come clinic on the Sunday afternoon which is open
for local guitar players to come along and meet a well known player. We've
had Tommy Emmanuel, Albert Lee, Tony McManus, Bob Brozman, Ken Hamm,
Gary Potter, Clive Carroll, John Renbourn, to name just a
few.

Our weekend

with our entry level
'Strugglers weekends' and
'Improvers
weekends' to more technique orientated
weekends such as 'Blues'
'Rock',
'Country',
'Django',
'Bass'
and our very popular 'Maintenance weekends'. Yours sincerely

Come along with your spouse or partner and whilst you are learning they can sample
the delights of the Lake District. Two in a room also means a saving on the
cost of the course. If
you are interested we can arrange a Pampering session for your
partner.
The
cost includes all course
materials and teaching plus all of your food and accommodation. You will needless to say
have to pay for your alcoholic beverages though. I sometimes arrange a concert
for the Saturday night at a local venue where the Tutor plays with their
own band. Also we have Sunday afternoon workshops and clinics with well
known players for local guitar club members to attend. These do cost
extra. The artist
playing usually has Sunday lunch with the course members before doing
the workshop from 3 till 5 pm. You can also
stop on for this if you have the time. Price for these is around £10 to
£15 and includes afternoon tea. Events

What visitors think
"Here is a rather belated
"THANK YOU" for a great 'Back to Basics'
week-end. I
certainly learnt a lot, although I got back home feeling a little
confused
and shell shocked. A couple of weeks down the line and things have began
to
slip into place. Practice time is still the biggest problem but ten
minutes
here and half an hour there soon mounts up.">> Read all of original letter |
