Tommy Emmanuel is a household name in his native
country of Australia. He is the most successful instrumental artist there, to
date, with album sales alone exceeding 600,000. Now, well on his way to the
worldwide recognition he truly deserves he has decided to make the UK his home.

Since turning professional he has worked with STEVIE
WONDER, JOAN ARMATRADING, JAMES BURTON, JAMES REYNE, TINA ARENA, JACK JONES,
OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN, ALBERT LEE, SIR GEORGE MARTIN, TINA TURNER, JAMES MORRISON,
ROBBEN FORD, LARRY CARLTON, JOHN DENVER, MARTIN TAYLOR, MICHAEL BOLTON, WARREN
HILL and many more. His versatility has seen him perform at many major music
festivals including MONTEREY JAZZ FESTIVAL, VANCOUVER FOLK FESTIVAL, FAN FARE
IN NASHVILLE and other blues and jazz festivalsaround the world. He has
played at The Grand Old Opry in Nashville, The Sidney Opera House and
has given performances for the King of Thailand and the Prime Minister of
Australia

In 1988, after being Australia’s most in demand
studio musician he embarked upon a solo career when he wrote "Up from Down
Under" and "Dare to be different." Both albums achieved platinum
status. In 1991 "Determination" was released and like its
predecessors, went platinum. His latest albums have all been receiving the same
kind of success

Along the way he has won many prestigious awards
including several ARIA awards (Australia Grammy), the MO Award (performer of the
year) and in 95 & 97 while in Nashville he won a Nammy (Nashville music
award). His song "Smokey Mountain Lullaby" received a Grammy
nomination in 1998.

You may have seen him recently when he appeared on the
final concert at the end of the Olympic games in Sydney in 2001.
