Rick Payne

Rick Payne is an established acoustic blues guitarist in the UK with many national and international tours to his credit. He has become especially well known for his authentic acoustic blues finger picking, playing in the many traditional styles of the blues including delta blues, piedmont, ragtime and slide and has recorded several albums of this kind. He has worked on many Television and radio projects for the BBC providing atmospheric sound track and incidental music for documentaries and features.and written and performed music for the Old Vic Theatre in Bristol.

As a teacher he has written and facilitated many guitar workshop style sessions, teaching the art of Big Bill Broonzy, Robert Johnson, Blind Blake et al. Rick is part time lecturer in guitar studies at Soundwell College in Bristol.

Future projects include expanding the opportunities of online teaching and record more albums to keep the unique styles of acoustic blues alive.
